Milah Lucas
Ballet Instructor
Jamilah "Milah" Lucas has over 25 years of dance experience and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from Texas Woman’s University, and a national certification with Dance Educators of America and Dance Master of America. She has been appointed as a dance competition judge through Star Dance Alliance at international dance competitions such as Starpower National Talent, NextStar, and Fly Dance Competition.
Milah was the former Owner and Artistic Director of an award winning studio, Milah’s School of Dance, for 13 years before its closing due to the Covid Pandemic. Her background in dance is Vaganova Ballet Method, Horton, and Fosse technique. Growing up, she danced and trained with Newcomb School of Ballet (currently renamed Texas Metropolitan Ballet) in Killeen, TX, the Moscow Ballet in Russia, Ballet Austin, and Joffrey Ballet.
Students she has trained have received numerous awards and have been nationally and internationally recognized by prestigious dance companies, including Dallas Black Dance Theater, B. Moore Dance Company, Joffrey Ballet School, Alvin Ailey, Bolshoi Ballet Academy, Texas Ballet Theater, and American Ballet Theater. Milah and her top students became the USA representative for Dance Europa: Italia Grand Prix 2019.
Students who have trained under Milah have also been academically accepted into magnet Greiner Exploratory Arts Middle School and Booker T. Washington Performing and Visual Arts High School in the Dallas Metroplex. Milah’s current activities include designing costumes and teaching master dance classes at various conventions and schools.
